Our first field trip: A.D. Makepeace Cranberry Bog - Cape Cod, Mass. on September 20, 2010

This particular adventure began back in August of 2010 when we decided to begin homeschooling.

After much thought and deliberation, we began this new journey into finding the most interesting books, fun and educational classes, then making the room in our house (and schedule!) to fit it all in!

Let me first state that the homeschool adventure is not for everyone. It is a very daunting task and can be extremely overwhelming. Add in: trying to find a new network of friends, finding your personal teaching style, figuring out your child, the worst Winter ever, and yes, it is a mountain to climb.

Today I am tired. We have had a few discussions that have become full arguments. My son is 10. He is very analytical, logical, and an incredible debater. Yesterday I was stumped. Completely amazed that he managed to out argue my valid points and confuse me to the point of exhaustion. This has been the most interesting thing about homeschooling. You get to interact with your child and see things that you never saw or knew about them. It is a learning experience in more ways than one!

So, back to the adventure. It has been on a whole, a great one. We have met some really neat people, completed some amazing artwork and other projects, attended several classes, and learned more than I ever thought was possible in the last six months.

Please join me as I invite you along on my journey as a homeschool mom and the adventures of the ThreeRoberts Family!
